Carhartt inc a été fondé par Hamilton Carhartt en 1889 à Détroit (USA) pour fabriquer des vêtements de travail.
L’entreprise vieille de 130 ans environ à débuté avec deux machines à coudre et seulement 5 travailleurs!
Carhartt est réputé pour ses vestes de travail robustes qui sont très populaires auprès des travailleurs en construction, mineurs, chasseurs…
Petit à petit, la marque s’étend aussi à l’habillement général. Et ce qu’on appelle le “work wear” ne se porte plus qu’au travail.
Les vêtements sont unis avec des couleurs telles que le moutarde, le kaki et le bleu marine.
Après les vestes, arrivent très rapidement les pantalons puis salopettes de même coloris.
